Developing Perspective - PhotoVoice / ODI

Developing Perspective is an exhibition showcasing photographs and digital stories created by beneficiaries of UK-funded cash transfer programmes in Kenya and Mozambique. Cash transfers are small amounts of money given to the poorest and most vulnerable in society to enable them to meet their basic daily needs.

Photography workshops, facilitated by PhotoVoice, were carried out with orphaned and vulnerable children in Kenya, and people with disabilities in Mozambique. Participants learned how to take photographs using digital cameras, and were supported in using the images to express their opinions about the money they receive.

This exhibition is part of a larger DFID-funded study, carried out by the Overseas Development Institute
with local partners, investigating beneficiary and community perspectives on cash transfer programmes across five countries – Kenya, Mozambique, Uganda, Yemen and the Occupied Palestinian Territories (Gaza and West Bank).
